Daniel Jewesbury is an artist, a writer and a research associate in digital cultures at the Centre for Media Research, University of Ulster, Northern Ireland. Daniel's research includes work on the post-Troubles public sphere in Northern Ireland, and the difficulties posed by 'regeneration' in a society where segregation persists. He is currently completing a major new film installation, No Special Place, for exhibition from 2008; the artwork explores the fragile inter-relation between memory, narrative and biography. Daniel is a co-editor of Variant magazine and a co-director of the 'Visonic' audio-visual festival in Belfast. Most recently, Daniel has also written the catalogue text for Willie Doherty's exhibition 'Ghost Story' at the 2007 Venice Biennale.
